In Najibabad area of Bijnor district, a woman who was cutting grass in the forest on Sunday died in a leopard attack. Police sources said here that a woman Meera (35) was cutting grass in the forest near the village in Essopur village of Najibabad police station area, when the leopard attacked her.
Hearing the noise, the leopard left the woman and ran away by the time her husband and other villagers came. He said that the seriously injured woman was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her dead.
According to the police, post mortem of the body is being done. In protest against the incident, Digambar Singh, leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, demonstrated with the farmers at the Divisional Forest Officer office.
