The number of women pilots in India is increasing: Scindia

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Saturday that India is one of the few countries in the world where the number of women pilots is increasing. He described it as a sign of revolutionary change.

Union Communications and North Eastern Region Development Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that while women pilots are relatively low in developed countries like America and Europe, 15 percent of pilots in India are women. He was speaking at an event after laying the foundation stone of a Post Office Passport Seva Kendra Bhavan and distributing passbooks to 38 girls under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

Referring to the upcoming Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, he said that the residents of Morena and Sheopur districts as well as neighboring Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh had to go to Gwalior, Guna, Bhopal or Delhi for the first passport services but now this facility will be available in Morena itself.

He said, “The proposed building to be built at a cost of Rs 30 lakh will provide passport services to the residents of Morena Lok Sabha constituency. The decision to set up Passport Seva Kendra in each parliamentary constituency has been taken with the objective of providing better services to citizens. ”

He said, “India has emerged as a carrier of global change under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s competent and visionary leadership. Under schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana, more than 10 crore women have been provided LPG connections and these schemes have really empowered women. ”The Union Minister said that 33 percent reservation for women in the assemblies is strengthening institutional participation.
