Who are Tommy Robinson who gather millions of people on London streets?

On Saturday, September 13, a large number of people landed on the streets of London under the leadership of right -wing activist Tommy Robinson. The objective of this rally named ‘Unite the Kingdom’ was to oppose immigration. But the protest became violent and the mob clashed with the police. During this time 26 policemen were injured. According to officials, the protesters attacked the police with punches, kick and bottles. The condition of four of these policemen is critical, whose teeth and nose were broken and deep injuries on their heads.

The police have so far arrested at least 25 people on charges of violence, attacks and damage to public property.

Who is Tommy Robinson?

Tommy Robinson’s real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lenn. He is the right -wing activist of Britain and founder of the English Defense League (EDL). The organization has been infamous for anti -Islam statements and violent demonstrations.

Social media ban: Twitter in 2018 and Facebook-Estagram in 2019 banned him due to abusive language and hatred statements. After buying Alan Musk’s Twitter (now X) in 2022, his account was restored and today he has more than 1 million followers.

American Relationships: Robinson formed relations with the right -wing organizations of America. He appeared on media forums such as Fox News and Infiners and also provided financial assistance from the Middle East Forum. Former Proud Boys leader Enric Tareo considers him ‘inspiration’.

Dispute: After a knife at Southport, Britain in August 2024, he spread a false claim of the attacker being a Muslim and appealed to the supporters to ‘get up’. Due to this, he was accused of inciting riots.

Criminal cases: Robinson has a long criminal history, including many different types of crimes. He has several criminal cases registered, including attacks in 2005, passport fraud in 2012 and hostage fraud in 2014. Additionally, he was also convicted for contempt of court in 2018. Due to these cases, he has been sentenced to jail four times so far.
