At least 10 flood victims, including children, were killed when three boats overturned during the rescue operation in Pakistan’s Punjab province. An official gave this information on Friday.
According to a Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 official, the work of evacuating people on a large scale is going on in southern Punjab, as hundreds of villages have been submerged in flood waters there.
“Three boats near Multan and Bahawalnagar overturned near Multan and Bahawalnagar, resulting in 10 flood victims, including children,,” the official said. However, rescuers saved 40 others from drowning. ,
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said on Thursday that 78 people have died in flood -related incidents in the province since August 23. Bukhari said that with the death of these 10 people, the death toll has increased to 88.
Bukhari said at a press conference here, “78 people have lost their lives since the flood started in Punjab on August 23, 42 lakh people have been affected/displaced.
