“Zapad-2025” military exercise launched by Russia and Belarus is not just a regular exercise; It also has a clear power display and political message near the range of NATO. This exercise spread over the Baltic and Brent that exercise has indicated that Russia is not only strengthening its military preparations, but also adopting a strategy to warn the Western world. This practice is happening at a time when the Russia-Ukraine war is in its decisive phase and is increasing safety concerns across the boundaries.
The Russian Ministry of Russian Defense has described the purpose of the practice as military training and improving the capacity of commanders. Under this training, preparations will be made to face a fictional attack in the first phase, while in the second phase there will be emphasis on restoring the integrity of “Union State” and crushing the enemy with the help of the Allies.
