SGPC member BS Sialka filed a petition in the High Court against Ram Rahim’s parole

BS Sialka, a member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has demanded that the Haryana government revoke the order to grant parole to Dera chief Ram Rahim. In the petition, Haryana Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Commissioner of Rohtak, Directorate of Police, Secretary of Punjab Home Department, Central Home Secretary, Sunalia Jail President, DC Rohtak and Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim have sought answers.

It has been alleged in the petition that the Haryana government has violated the rules by granting 40 days parole to Rah Rahim. The petition said that the Dera head is serving sentence in cases like rape and murder. Many cases have been registered against him in Punjab as well.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib was allegedly insulted by his supporters which led to many disputes between the Sikhs and their supporters. Due to this, several protest marches, Punjab bandh, road and railway lines were blocked in Punjab.

The parole of the Dera chief has hurt the sentiments of the Sikhs and threatened peace in Punjab. In the petition, the court was requested to cancel the parole of the Dera chief and send him back to jail until this petition is under consideration. The petition has been filed in the High Court. It can be heard in the High Court on Monday.
