Tejashwi’s big allegation: Bhishma Pitamah of Nitish corruption, increased crime in Bihar

Describing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as Bhishma Pitamah of corruption, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav said on Thursday that the public will avenge the mismanagement of the state in the upcoming elections. The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader told reporters in Patna that crimes are increasing in Bihar, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers are giving shelter to criminals. There is not a single day when criminal activities are not happening in the state. Corruption has increased in Bihar. Nitish Kumar has become ‘Bhishma Pitamah’ of corruption. They are looting Bihar in collusion with retired officials and the public will take revenge in the upcoming elections.

Amid the possibility of special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list across the country, the RJD leader thanked the Supreme Court for allowing the Aadhaar card to be included as a valid identity card. He said that he is not against special intensive revision (SIR), but against its method of operation. He said that I thank the Supreme Court for allowing Aadhaar as an identity card for SIR. This is a big win for us. We are not against SIR, but against the process of implementing SIR.
Earlier on September 10, the Election Commission (EC) organized a conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all states and union territories and assessed preparations for the nationwide special intensive revision (SIR) of voter lists. This was the third conference of Chief Electoral Officers this year. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in the presence of Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.

The Election Commission said in a press release that a presentation was made by the Chief Executive Officer of Bihar on strategies, obstacles and the best practices adopted so that the Chief Executive Officers of the rest of the country could learn from their experiences. To ensure that there are no more than 1,200 voters at any polling station, the commission’s initiative was uniformly implemented, the status of rationalization of polling stations was also reviewed. Chief Executive Officers also provided documents suggested to ensure that no eligible civilian should be released from the voter list and no ineligible person is involved in it. It was reiterated that these documents would make it easier for eligible citizens to submit documents.
