Security forces have launched several campaigns against Naxalites in the last few months. It is worth noting that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has set a target of ending the leftist terrorism 31 March 2026. Earlier, 16 Naxalites of lower levels of various units in Narayanpur district also surrendered. According to the police, the Naxalites were disappointed with the hollow Maoist ideology and the atrocities being committed by them on innocent tribals. Quoting the Superintendent of Police, a media report stated that they (the top Maoist leaders) mislead the local people with the protection, equality and false promises of water, forest and land, and exploit them and enslave them. Local workers have to face severe exploitation, and the situation of female Maoists is worse.
