Suspected blast in Doda, police-FSL engaged in investigation, stress was already stressed before the arrest of AAP leader

A suspected explosion occurred on Thursday in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, causing panic in the area. According to officials, the explosion occurred at Dumri Mohalla near Jamai Masjid. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has reached the spot and the investigation is on. Police have also detained two people in connection with the blast. Tensions have increased in Doda district after the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Mehraj Malik, who is the only party MLA in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Malik was detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Police under the Strict Public Safety Act (PSA).

He was detained after an FIR was lodged against a government official against a government official against Malik, who won the election of Doda District Development Council. Doda Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh said on Monday that the continuous misuse of inflammatory speeches and ‘Facebook Live’ is being done to spoil the public system by spreading misinformation and provoking the public. He further stated that every legitimate action taken by the administration with the aim of creating law based society, whether in Doda district or in Jammu, gives them ‘opportunity’ to spread lies and disturb the peace by raising them, especially the youth, especially the youth.
At the same time, under the Strict Public Safety Act (PSA) in Jammu and Kashmir, there was a violent clashes between protesters and security forces and detaining more than 80 people over the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mehraj Malik and tension in Doda district and surrounding areas on Thursday. Doda district remained in force for the third consecutive day on Thursday, where mobile internet and WiFi services were suspended as precautions.

The administration on Monday imposed Section 163 of the Indian Civil Civil Protection Code and banned the movement of people without prior permission. Officials said the situation remained calm throughout the night and no new protests were reported. He informed that security personnel are being cautious. A large number of security forces have been deployed around Doda city, Bhadarwah, Gandoh and Thathri amid tension over alleged administrative arbitrariness.
