Recalling the vision of Nari Shakti and developed India, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday flagged off the world’s first historic Tri-Service Women’s Parikrama Naukayan Abhiyan, Samudra Prakshina, with the world’s first historic Tri-Service Women’s Parikrama Naukayan Abhiyan. In his address to the South Block, the Defense Minister described the visit as a vivid symbol of women power, collective power of the three armies, unity and jointness, self -reliant India and its military diplomacy and global approach.

In the next nine months, 10 women officers will travel on the eastern route, covering a distance of about 26,000 knots, riding on a distance of indigenous Indian Army sailing vessel (IASV). They will cross the equator twice, covering all the major oceans and some of the most dangerous water areas including three great interpretations – Leuvin, Horn and Good Hope – and some of the most dangerous water areas including the southern oceans and drakes. The team will also visit four international ports before returning to Mumbai in May 2026.
Rajnath Singh described Samudra Pradakshina not only a journey on one ship, but also a spiritual practice and a journey of discipline and determination. He said, “During the campaign, our officials may face many challenges, but the flame of their determination will keep ripping the darkness. They will return home safely and show the world that the might of Indian women is beyond any border.”

Defense Minister Singh recently recalled the extraordinary achievement achieved by two Indian women’s Naval officials Lieutenant Commander Dilna and Lieutenant Commander Rupa A, who faced many challenges with courage and dedication, riding on another indigenous vessel, INS Tarini, successfully revolved around the world. He expressed confidence that IASV Triveni would set another global standard in maritime adventure and write another golden chapter in India’s maritime.
