Initiative to give new heights to technical education in Bihar, two -day sensitization workshop focused on NBA accreditation organized

The two -day sensitization workshop (FDP) was organized by the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, on 8 and 9 September at the Planetarium Auditorium in Patna. The workshop was about the standards and process of the ‘National Board of Accreditation (NBA)’, which aims to give new direction of quality to engineering and technical institutions of the state. In the workshop, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Engineering University, Dr. Prof. S.K. Verma, Additional Secretary of the Department-Director Mr. Ahmed Mahmood, BEU Registrar Dr. Pradeep Kumar, BCST Project Director Dr. Anant Kumar, and SBTE Secretary Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh and many senior officials and academics attended.

Expert sessions were conducted by Dr. Parimal Acharya, Professor of NIT Durgapur and Dr. Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, Dean of SGPC Patiala. He explained in detail the nuances of the NBA accreditation, international standards and practical aspects of institutional preparation. Representatives, nodal officers, heads of departments and instructors of engineering colleges across the state participated enthusiastically in this workshop. Lecturers of the new Government Politakanik Patna-13 also took active participation, who recently recognized NBA Accreditation in Mechanical, Civil and Electronicus in three courses, they also shared their experiences and institutional efforts. Experienced assistant professors of MIT Muzaffarpur and NCE Chandi also shared their experiences.

It is noteworthy that a special workshop on the same subject was also organized for the polytechnic institutions of the state last month, which shows the continuity and commitment of the department towards quality improvement at various levels of technical education. In the concluding session of the workshop, all participants were awarded certificates for participation in the Faculty Development Program (FDP). On this occasion, many major initiatives of the department which reflecting the participation of the stakeholder for the recognition of NBA, were underlined, such as Industry-Institute Meat, Mental Health Awareness Campaign, Establishment of Center for Excellence (COE), MOOOC and online skill development, factor development programs, Faculty Development Programs, Faculty Development Programs, Faculty Development Programs, Faculty Development Programs, Trainers and students and students Recently received National Award etc.
