Bihar: Government is providing electricity aid to feed mills that produce fish fodder

The government is going to provide electricity assistance to feed mills producing fish fodder. For this, the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources has sought online application for Fish Feed Mill Electricity Assistance Scheme-2025-26. This initiative of the government will not only benefit fish fodder growers but it will also promote fish production.

Under this scheme, on the basis of monthly power consumption in fish feed production, feed miles will be estimated at the rate of Rs 3 per unit. Fid mills of 100 tonnes of production capacity will be estimated at the rate of Rs 3 per unit (maximum Rs 2 lakh per month and maximum Rs 24 lakh per year). The electricity bill will be given financial assistance on the electricity bill assumed at a commercial rate on the basis of the financial assistance, which will not include Fixed Charge and other additional charge.

With the successful implementation of this scheme, feed mill operators working out of a total of 53 fish feeds installed under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in the state will be benefited. Feeding miles of 02 tonnes, 08 tonnes, 20 tons and 100 tonnes of production capacity will be provided financial relief based on monthly consumption power units. Under the PMMMSY scheme in the state, the fish feed mile operators of production capacity of 02, 08, 20, 20 and 100 tonnes per day in the private sector will be beneficial.

Applicant will be required to attach your fish feed mile photograph (in postcard size) application form to avail the Fish Feed Meal Electricity Assistance Scheme. In the application form, your mobile number and bank branch name, bank account number, IFC code will be mentioned by the applicant. After the application, the selection of the beneficiaries will be done by the Selection Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Fisheries Director.
