Two lawyers were appointed as Judge of Allahabad High Court

Two lawyers have been appointed as a judge of the Allahabad High Court. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal gave this information on Saturday. In a meeting held on 25 March this year, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Amitabh Kumar Rai and Rajiv Lochan Shukla to be the Judge of the Allahabad High Court.

Meghwal said in a post on ‘X’, “The President has appointed Amitabh Kumar Rai and Rajiv Lochan Shukla as judges of the Allahabad High Court, after consulting the Chief Justice of India, using the power provided by the Indian Constitution.

Currently, the number of sanctioned posts of judges in the Allahabad High Court is 160, while there are 84 judges posted there. The appointment of Rai and Shukla will increase the total number of judges in the Allahabad High Court to 86.
