About 200 children lost their lives in landslides in Sudan: Help Group

About 200 children died in the landslide on Sunday in Darfur, the western region of Sudan and rescue operations in the area are still going on. A major aid group gave this information on Friday.

More than 1,000 people are expected to be killed in this landslide in Tarasin village of Marrah mountains. The ‘Save the Children’ institution said that 150 people, including 40 children, have been rescued and are being treated. Mohammad Abdel-Rahman al-Nair, spokesperson of ‘Sudan Liberation Movement Army’, said that more than a thousand people have been killed in a landslide.
