India on Friday rejected the report stating that Chinese President Xi Jinping had sent a ‘secret letter’ to President Draupadi Murmu to revive relations with New Delhi. Quoting an Indian official, the report claimed that Xi Jinping in her letter “expressed concern about any American deal that damaged China’s interests”. The report claimed that the message was sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but in June itself, his government started a ‘serious effort’ to re -establish relations with China. In June, the report claimed that the business talks with the US were ‘controversial’. Significantly, both India and China have recently been trying to improve their relations, which became very bad after the clash in the Galwan Valley in 2020.
