A cloudburst in Margi village of Warwan Valley caused 15 houses completely and partially damaged, affecting more than 100 families. No casualties have been reported, but large parts of agricultural land and local infrastructure have suffered severe damage.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has directed the administration to ensure immediate relief and rehabilitation for people affected by cloudburst in Warwan Valley of Kishtwar district. On Wednesday evening, a large part of 15 houses as well as agricultural land was damaged in Margi Basti due to cloudburst on Wednesday evening. However, no casualties were reported in this incident.

On Saturday expressed deep grief over the damage caused by floods. Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Singh of Kishtwar reached Warwan on Saturday morning and they are present there to take stock of the ground situation.
The Chief Minister said that instructions have been issued to restore relief, rehabilitation and contact immediately and to ensure their safety by reaching the Bakarwal community in the upper areas. Sub-divisional magistrate Marwah Mohammad Ashraf said that 14–15 houses were completely damaged due to cloudburst in Margi village and more than 100 houses were partially damaged, affecting more than 100 families.

He said, “Although no casualties were reported, other losses are being assessed and rescue operations are on in the area.” A community kitchen has been set up by the government for the affected population and the work of restoring the necessary supply is going on.
