The most prominent causes of road accident are over speeding and ignoring rules. This has been revealed in the report of intensive investigation done by traffic police level and strict action against those driving the vehicle randomly. Only all the national highways (NH) present in the state ignored the rules from January to July this year, ie, by ignoring the rules in just 7 months, challans of 1 lakh 73 thousand 143 people driving in a random manner were cut, which was charged as a fine of Rs 26 crore 27 lakh. In this, challans have been deducted due to the maximum overspeeding or driving at the speed higher speed. Apart from this, a penalty has to be imposed due to not following the rules related to such roads, including not applying seat belts, doing wrong overtaking. Due to these negligence, the number of road accidents is increasing.

Efforts are being made at several levels to reduce road accidents on major roads, especially NH. In this case, ADG (Traffic) Sudhanshu Kumar says that by 2030, a target has been targeted to reduce the number of road accidents by 50 percent. Corrective efforts have also been started at many levels regarding this. Petroling vehicles with modern facilities have been deployed for patrolling on NH over three thousand km. With the help of these patrolling vehicles, strict action is taken against those who violate other traffic rules by checking the speed of over speeding vehicles. So that it helps in reducing accidents on NH.

ADG Sudhanshu Kumar said that GPS (global positioning systems) are being installed in these patrolling vehicles, so that it can be known which vehicles are patrolling in which area. Proper instructions can be given to vehicles going out of their limits. If needed, such vehicles can be closed by sending commands from the Command and Control Center at Patna Headquarters. Soon 58 more highway patrolling vehicles are going to join this camp. This will greatly facilitate patrolling on the entire NH. A certain distance will be set to patrol each vehicle, which no one will have to violate. This will allow a large number of action against vehicles ignoring traffic rules.
