Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached China for the first time after seven years, where he will attend the important SCO summit and hold bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Prime Minister Modi arrived in Tianjin in China after ending his visit to Japan, where he promoted bilateral relations in the fields of transportation, space exploration and trade. The Prime Minister will stay in China till September 1 and will have an important meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders are expected to take stock of India-China economic relations and to discuss steps to further normalize relations.

Prime Minister Modi will also attend the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which has special importance amid growing concerns about 50% US tariffs on India from Wednesday.
