The Vaishno Devi Yatra was postponed for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday after the landslides caused by continuous rains in Jammu and Kashmir. Many devotees from other parts of India are still staying in Katra and are hoping that the yatra will start soon and they will be able to see. A devotee named Saroj Singh told ANI that I expected to see Mother, but I am getting disappointed. I hope she will listen to my prayer and I will be able to see. I will stop 2 to 4 days more. I will not go until I see. I hope so much, I have come here for the first time.

Another devotee named Ramesh Sharma told ANI that I come here every year. I have faith in my mother. I will not go without seeing. This time there was some pain. I will not come back without seeing it… I will stop no matter how many days I have to stay. I pray that Mother should place people at their feet who have lost their lives and fix them. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the formation of a high-level three-member committee to investigate the causes of landslides near Adkunwari on 26 August on 26 August.
Shaleen Kabra, the Additional Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir’s Water Power Department, will be the chairman of this committee, which includes the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and Inspector General of Police. According to an official order, the committee also includes the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and Inspector General of Police. The committee has been assigned to conduct a detailed investigation and submit his report to LG Sinha, who is also the chairman of LG Sinha, who is also the chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB).

The order states that the committee will investigate the cause and causes of the incident in detail and indicate any lapse, assess the reactions in the form of rescue and relief measures and suggest suitable SOPs and measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
