A video of Punjab ministers discussing their cruise visits in Goa and Sweden during flood inspection in Tarn Taran district has created resentment in the state, and BJP and Congress have targeted the Bhagwant Man Sarkar on the issue. In the video, three ministers Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harbhajan Singh and Barinder Kumar Goyal are shown sitting on a boat wearing a life jacket while inspecting flood affected areas amidst continuous rains in the state.

The clip is originally taken from a livestream on Bhullar’s Facebook account and streamed during the survey of flood damage. The minister, who looked unaware of this livestream, was discussing the cruise trips to Sweden and Goa. Singh can be heard saying that I went to a cruise in Sweden. You can stay on the ship round the clock because there is everything on the ship, hotel, etc. After this, Goyal wants to know more about the journey. Bhullar replied that it was the same as Goa.
After Livestream, a video was posted on the same account, in which the ministers urged the residents of the state to follow the instructions given by the Punjab government and go to safe places. Bhullar is the Minister of Transport in the Punjab Government, Singh Bhawan and Roads Minister, while Goyal is the Minister of Water Resources. The three have been deployed as flood relief in -charge in the border districts of the state. At present, the politics of Punjab has intensified due to this.

Punjab Congress MLA Pratap Singh Bajwa criticized the ministers on the social media platform X. Bajwa said, “Flood -affected families in Punjab are begging for a glass of drinking water, but Punjab ministers Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harbhajan Singh and Barinder Kumar Goyal took time out to refresh their ‘golden memories’ of luxury cruise in Sweden and Goa. What was a relief journey!”
BJP’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh also shared a clip of discussion on X, “Punjab has drowned, the fields have been ruined, houses are destroyed, families are on the streets. But even in these circumstances, the minister is talking about Sweden-Goa Kruz instead of distributing the pain of flood victims by sitting on the boat!” He further alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his government “have failed to meet the expectations of the people.” Chugh questioned that the public is asking that Punjab gave you power because you can tell stories of luxury during crisis? Or so that you can reduce our troubles? “The BJP leader said,” The leaders who talk about luxury during the disaster are actually the biggest culprit of Punjab’s ruin.
