Bihar: Both owner and driver sued for accidents due to overloaded vehicles

Strict action will be taken against overloaded vehicles, especially small vehicles in the state. If an accident occurs due to overloading from an auto, bus like a vehicle, then action will be taken against the vehicle owner and the driver, including the driver, in section 105 of BNS (Indian Justice Code) and other relevant sections. This section provides for minimum 10 years imprisonment. This information was given by ADG (Traffic) Sudhanshu Kumar in a press conference held on Friday in the auditorium of Sardar Patel Bhavan.

Referring to the major auto accidents in recent months, the ADG said that 7 people were killed in an auto accident in the draft on 23 February. Similarly, 9 women were killed in an auto accident near Shahjahanpur on 3 and 23 August in Adarsh ​​Nagar on 4, 31 July in Dumariya, on 4, 31 July. All these accidents have occurred due to overloading. After investigating these cases, strict action will be taken by registering a case under Section 105 of BNS. Apart from this, a case of death of a child has come to light from a hole in the school bus a few days ago in Jehanabad, action will also be taken under strict sections. In these cases, strict action will be taken against all the culprits.

The ADG said that there is a problem of jam due to auto in cities, especially Patna. Strict instructions have been given to erect the auto 50 meters forward or behind all the square-intersections. If a minor is caught anywhere while driving any other vehicle including auto, tuktuk, then action will be taken against him under strict sections of BNS. The person is completely forbidden to carry a cargo on a cargo auto or other vehicles. Transport of school children on e-rickshaws has already been banned. Strict action will be taken in all such cases.

Appealing to the common people, they should avoid sitting on overloaded vehicles and raise their voice against those who drive wrong vehicles. So that such a practice should not be accepted in society. Traffic rules should also be informed in schools.
