The Asia Cup 2025 is going to begin in UAE from next month. Team India has been announced long ago and Team India will leave for Dubai in a few days. But the BCCI has earlier made a big decision that may shock some players.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav announced the team through the press conference. Along with this, the names of four reserve players were also announced. Reserve players are kept so that any of the main teams are selected when they are injured. These players usually travel with the team. In the Asia Cup, the BCCI has changed its path and has decided not to send the reserve players with the team. News agency PTI gave this information.
When a senior BCCI officer was asked whether the reserve players will also travel together for the team for the Asia Cup? So he said that no standby players will not go to Dubai with the main team.
This decision reflects the priority of traveling with fewer people of team management. When replacement is required, standby players will be sent to Dubai. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been selected as an opener’s replacement. The team already has players like Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson who are openers. Jaiswal will get a chance only if any of them get hurt.
The same situation is with the famous Krishna, who will get a chance only when Jaspreet Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana will be injured. By the way, India has announced a 15 -member team while a 17 -member team was to be selected for the Asia Cup.
