In many parts of Pakistan, the devastating floods are disrupting life, while Defense Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif has blamed India for the crisis and has made a strange claim that flood waters from across the border have brought bodies to Pakistan. According to the Pakistani news portal dialogue Pakistan report, Khwaja Asif told reporters during a visit to flood affected areas in Sialkot that flood water coming from India has brought piles of corpses, cattle and debris. The minister further claimed that this has hindered the work of municipal teams trying to drain water from the area.

Earlier this week, India shared information about bad weather and potential heavy floods with Pakistan with public safety concerns, as many border rivers are in spate. The source said that the bilateral Indus Water Treaty, which India had stopped in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, is still postponed and no hydrian data is being exchanged under any mechanism of the treaty including the Indus Commission.
