Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced on Thursday that the state government will implement the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana’ from 25 September, under which the eligible women beneficiaries will get a monthly assistance of Rs 2,100, which will fulfill a major election promise of the ruling BJP. The Chief Minister of Haryana announced the decision after a meeting of the Haryana Cabinet, in which a single agenda related to the implementation of the scheme was approved. Saini said that the Haryana Cabinet has decided to implement Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana. He said that the scheme will be applicable from the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay (a major party thinker) on 25 September.

Saini said that under this scheme, all eligible women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs 2,100 every month. From September 25, women aged 23 and above will get the benefit of this scheme. He told that whether married or unmarried, both categories will get the benefit of this scheme. Saini said that in the first phase of this scheme, we have decided to include families whose annual income is less than Rs 1 lakh. Saini said, we estimate that about 19-20 lakh women will get the benefit of this scheme in the first phase. The Chief Minister said that in the coming time, the scheme will be expanded in a phased manner so that more income groups can be included in it.

To take advantage of this scheme, an unmarried woman or if she is married, her husband must be a resident of Haryana for 15 years. There is no limit to the number of women in a family. If three women are eligible in a family, the three will get the benefit of this scheme, Saini told. He said that the day an unmarried beneficiary will complete the age of 45 years, it will automatically be eligible for the widow and destitute women’s financial assistance scheme of the government. He said that the day married beneficiary woman will be 60 years old, she will automatically be eligible for old age honor allowance pension scheme.
