Israel-Syria Conflict: Israeli attacked Syrian capital, six soldiers killed

Six soldiers were killed and others injured in the Israeli drone attacks at the southern suburb of Syrian capital Damascus, on Wednesday by government media and a war monitoring agency. Government news agency Al-Ekhbaria said that the latest drone attacks took place in Kiswa, the southern suburb of Damascus and six soldiers were killed, although they did not give any more information. The Israeli army did not immediately comment on these attacks. Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December, Israel has carried out hundreds of air strikes on various parts of the country, destroying the Syrian army’s property.

The UK -based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attacks occurred at the southern province of Sweda, where there were deadly clashes between pro -government gunmen and Syria’s Druz minority fighters last month. Israel intervened in favor of the Drews community during the battle that took place last month. Drews are a large community in Israel, where they are considered a loyal minority and they often serve in the Israeli army. The Observatory further stated that the area that was attacked on Tuesday, about nine months ago, had military outposts of his army before the collapse of Assad.

Observatory reported that there were several attacks in the area, one of which occurred after paramedics arrived. It stated that apart from six soldiers killed, three people were also injured. Earlier, according to Al-Ikhbaria and Observatory, a person was killed in an Israeli drone attack near the southern city of Kunatra. The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack near Kunentra, saying that it is a violation of international law and threatens peace and stability in the region.
