Center approved the names of 2 new judges, Justice Aradh and Justice Pancholi, who are going to meet Supreme Court

According to a notification by the Union Law Ministry, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Alok Aradhe and Chief Justice of Patna High Court Vipul Manubhai Pancholi were promoted as judges of the Supreme Court on Wednesday. In this regard, the Central Government approved the promotion of Justice Alok Aradh and Justice Vipul Pancholi to the Supreme Court of India.

What did Law Minister Meghwal say on X?

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said on X that after consulting the President, Chief Justice of India, using the powers provided by the Constitution of India, (i) Justice Shri Alok Aradh, Chief Justice, Chief Justice, Bombay High Court and (ii) Justice Shri Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, Chief Judge, Patna High Court as the Judgment of the Supreme Court of India.

The Supreme Court will function again with full capacity

Keep in mind that the Supreme Court has 34 approved posts of judges, but it is working only with 32 judges. Now, the promotion of Justice Alok Aradh and Justice Vipul Pancholi will fill both vacancies, and the Supreme Court will once again work with full capacity.

Know how these judges were promoted?

The five -member collegium of Chief Justice BR Gavai and Justice Suryakant, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice Nagaratna held a meeting on August 25 and recommended the names of Bombay High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Pancholi as a judge of the top court. However, Justice Nagaratna had strongly disagreed over the proposal to promote Justice Pancholi to the Supreme Court, as reported in a report by the Bar and Bench.
