The US has announced a 50% tariff on products coming from India, for which it has also issued a notification. According to media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding an important meeting on the issue. The meeting is being held in the PMO, in which Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal are also present. Apart from this, several senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce and Finance are also present in the meeting.

The Trump administration plans to implement the revised tariff on Indian goods, which will be effective after 12:01 pm on August 27. A public information has been issued, in which 25 percent additional tariffs have been announced on Indian products. It has been clarified in the information that these increased fees will apply to Indian goods that will enter the US market for consumption at 12:01 pm or after. These fees will also apply to the goods extracted from American warehouses for use after that time.
According to the US, this increase is a punishment for continuous purchase of Russian oil by New Delhi, which Trump said that it is funding Moscow’s war in Ukraine – an allegation that has been strongly denied by the fourth largest economy in the world. Earlier, Narendra Modi expressed unwavering confidence in the people of India and strongly said that indigenous (indigenous) self -reliant India is the cornerstone of the creation of developed India. He emphasized that in the coming years, every citizen would support the mantra of ‘Vocal for Local’ by adopting indigenous products and practices. By 2047, when India celebrates 100 years of its independence, it will undoubtedly stand as a developed nation.

The Prime Minister said that today India has made self -reliance the basis of the creation of a developed India. The Prime Minister said that self -sufficient India gets immense power from Gujarat created by two decades of efforts. The dairy, cooperative and animal husbandry region of the state – where women play an important role – are globally recognized. He assured farmers, traders and small entrepreneurs that their interests are their top priority. Never neglected due to lack of resources, Gujarat has emerged as India’s manufacturing center today.
