Bihar Police’s dial-112 emergency number is also engaged in helping the common people in every way, along with the general law and order. Dial-112 service was introduced in 2022. So far, emergency assistance has been provided to more than 43 lakh citizens through this. So far this year, more than 8 lakh people have been provided assistance in emergency time. This information was given by ADG (Communications and Technical Services) NK Azad in a press conference held in the auditorium of Sardar Patel Bhavan on Monday.

For this, selected personnel have to take one and a half year training. For this reason, it takes some time to increase the number of personnel. Apart from this, the service provider providing mobile phone service to make the location based system more accurate has been informed about the entire case. Soon this system will be empowered technically from their level.
He said that 1833 vehicles are connected under it, including 1283 four wheels and 550 two wheel. Emergency assistance is provided twenty -four hours through them. This year, in the 8 lakh people who have been provided service, 6 lakh calls were related to general law and order. 1 lakh calls have come for domestic and sexual violence, 43 call ambulance assistance and 33 thousand calls related to the fire.

The ADG said that only 10 to 15 percent feedback is available in people who are provided facilities. In this, 90 percent of the people are satisfied with service. In the coming time, online arrangements are being made to take feedback from hundred percent people. He said that from 5 September 2024, a special initiative was started through Dial-112 to provide special protection during traffic to women. It is getting good response. So far, more than 200 women have been provided security as per their demand. All other emergency numbers have been incorporated from this one helpline, problems related to women and children, ambulances. Any kind of service can be obtained by calling this number.
