Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav recently caught people’s attention during their ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. During his 16-day visit, he appeared riding a bullet bike while entering Araria district from Purnia in Bihar.
The yatra has been started in protest against the alleged irregularities in the state’s voter list. Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and a heavy crowd gathered on the roads to see Tejashwi Yadav.
However, the incident gave a new debate within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Tej Pratap Yadav, who was dismissed from RJD, criticized his younger brothers Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi and questioned his association with their common people.
Tej Pratap said, ‘During the elections, everyone is busy in baking their bread and making their way. These leaders are roaming in air-division cars and are not even joining hands with the public. We want to follow the footpaths of small villages and become a land -connected leader.
The 1,300 km journey started from Sasaram on August 17 and will end with a rally in Patna on 1 September. It will pass through more than 20 districts in 16 days.
During this visit, Congress and RJD leaders are also going to address a joint press conference. Addressing a rally in Katihar, Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of ‘trying to steal votes’ before the assembly elections and said that after coming to the center, the BJP has closed the doors of opportunities for the poor.
