Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has clarified that he has not been given VIP security of ‘Z’ category, although the earlier reports were indicated by the opposite. The Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday confirmed that no such upgradation has been done under his protection and their security is still being managed by the Delhi Police. The central government had earlier indicated that after the recent attack on him, Gupta would be provided CRPF security, but these claims have been denied. No high-technical vehicles or additional security measures have been added to their current security so far. Gupta, who was attacked during the ‘Public Hearing’ program in his camp office on Wednesday morning, is still under the security of Delhi Police. Sources had earlier stated that the central government has decided to give them ‘Z’ category security in response to the attack, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will take over the responsibility of their security. However, the Chief Minister’s Office has clarified that no change has been made in their security and Delhi Police will continue to manage their security.
