But apart from this meeting, another khichdi was seen ripening in India’s neighborhood. Foreign ministers of Pakistan and China met in Islamabad. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reached Pakistan on August 20 after holding high -level meetings with India’s Foreign Minister, National Security Advisor and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and then visited Afghanistan.

India is keeping a close watch on these developments happening in its neighborhood. In Islamabad, Wang Yi participated in the sixth round of strategic talks of foreign ministers with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, the two sides reviewed the entire aspects of Pakistan-China relations and discussed important regional and global issues. He also exchanged intensive views on various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0, trade and economic relations, multilateral cooperation and relations between people.
Highlighting the evergreen strategic cooperation partnership between Pakistan and China, the two leaders agreed that friendship between the two countries is extremely important to maintain regional peace and stability, and is indispensable for their mutual progress and prosperity. He also committed to continue close coordination and dialogue on bilateral and multilateral forums. However, this meeting will have a direct impact on India, especially because China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which India claims. India has continuously opposed the project and described it as a violation of its sovereignty.
