Several hideouts and training camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed were demolished under Operation Sindoor. This has almost stopped their recruitment and training activities. Several senior commanders of Jaish were killed during Operation Sindoor, which shattered the top leadership of the organization and deteriorated internal coordination. In addition, Indian agencies hurt terrorists’ money laundering networks and hawala channels, causing a major obstacle to JEM’s funding lines.
According to latest reports, Jaish-e-Mohammed has now launched a campaign to raise 3.91 billion Pakistani rupees in the name of construction of 313 mosques. This effort is a symbol of adopting decentralization models like Lashkar-e-Taiba, so that their activities do not remain focused in one place and do not be easily destroyed. It is being told that mobile payment mediums like Easypaisa and Sadapay are being used for this.
It is being told that Founder Masood Azhar’s family, especially his brother Talha al -Saif and son Abdullah Azhar, are running this funding network. According to reports, more than 250 digital accounts are active from which posters, videos and letters of Azhar are being sought from people. Let us tell you that due to the increasing strictness of Financial Action Task Force (FATF), Jaish-e-Mohammed and ISI are now resorting to digital wallets and secret methods instead of open banking channels. It is an indication that international pressure has almost impossible traditional funding for these organizations.
However, there is no doubt that Operation Sindoor has given a serious shock to Pakistan -sponsored terrorism. Today organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed are looking for new avenues to survive, but their efforts also show that they have reached a state of frustration and weakness. The opportunity for India is to further strengthen its internal security, border management and international diplomacy so that the revival of such organizations is not possible. However, it is also clear that India’s aggressive policy against terrorism is not only weakening the terrorist structure across the border, but is also giving a message that India will no longer compromise on any kind of terror. If this pressure continues in the coming time, then the structure of Pakistan sponsored terrorism is sure to disintegrate even faster.
