The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the Delhi government on a petition on instructions to take steps towards building earthquake buildings for minimal damage in the event of earthquake in the national capital.
A bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela directed the Delhi government and the municipal corporations to file a situation on the petition. The petition also requested to make policies and guidelines “policies and guidelines to protect Delhiites from the ill effects of earthquake.
In the petition filed by Advocate Arpit Bhargava, the court has also been requested that the accountability of the government and other concerned should be decided if there is a delay in taking delays to protect the general public from a disaster like earthquake.
The petition requested to strengthen the laws related to the earthquake, implement them in a timely manner and decide the accountability of government officials in case of delay in implementation of policies, etc.
