Indian cricket veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane has officially announced that he will no longer captain the Mumbai cricket team. Actually, he gave this information while sharing a long post on X.
Rahane believes that the time has come to prepare the new generation leader in the team and give them the responsibility. 37 -year -old Ajinkya Rahane, who won the title to Mumbai, captaining Mumbai in the last season of Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He now decided to step down the captaincy of the Mumbai team. Rahane wrote on social media sharing this news.
It has been a great honor for me to captain the Mumbai team and win the championship with it. Before the new domestic season, I think now is the right time to prepare a new youth, so I have decided not to stay in the role of captaincy.
Along with this, Rahane wrote, I am fully prepared to give my best as a player and I will continue my journey with Mumbai and help the team to win more trophy.
Let me tell you that Rahaan’s leadership made a lot of achievements in domestic cricket in Mumbai, including winning the Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He became the highest run -scorer player in that tournament. He brought the team to the semi -finals of the Ranji Trophy, but lost to Vidarbha’s team by 90 runs.
Captaining and winning championships with the Mumbai team has been an absolute honour.
With a new domestic season ahead, I believe it’s the right time to groom a new leader, and hence I’ve decided not to continue in the captaincy role.
