Rekha Gupta Attack: Three sections were imposed on the accused, including attempted murder, interrogation of IB and special sale

Delhi Police on Wednesday registered a case of attempt to murder against the person who attacked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The accused has been identified as 41 -year -old Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai Sakaria. A case has been registered against him under sections 109 (1), 132 and 221 of the Indian Justice Code. The accused has been taken into police custody. Further investigation is on and the case is being investigated from all possible angles. Gupta was attacked on Wednesday morning during a ‘public hearing’ program at his camp office. His office described the attack as part of a well -planned conspiracy of his murder.

IB and special cell interrogation continues

According to the information, teams of Intelligence Bureau and Delhi Police Special Cell are questioning the accused Sakaria in connection with the attack. Investigators may demand five to seven days of custody of the accused. Sources said that Sakaria reached Delhi from Rajkot by train on Tuesday morning and stopped at Gujarati building on Civil Lines. In a phone conversation with a friend in Gujarat, he told that he had reached the Chief Minister’s residence in Shalimar Bagh. Sources in the Delhi Police further stated that no relative of the accused is jailed and as earlier estimated, he did not take any complaint letter or document with him while going to the Chief Minister’s residence. Significantly, accused Rajeshbhai Khimjibhai Sakaria is a well-known name.

Previous criminal record details of the accused

In GR No. 0215/2017, under sections 326, 504 and 114 of IPC, he was acquitted on 25 November 2019 by the eighth Additional Chief Magistrate of Rajkot in case number 198/2018.

In Crime No. 1227/2020, under Section 65AA and 116B of the Prohibition Act, he was acquitted on 3 November 2023 by the third additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Rajkot in case number 21965/2020.

In the offense number 1591/2020 under Section 65AA and 116B of the Alcohol Prohibition Act, he was acquitted on 25 October 2023 by the third AD Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rajkot in case number 8067/2021.

In the prohibition act section 6 PI and 116B, in the offense number 0871/2022, the case is currently pending before the Second Additional Civil Judge and JMFC, Case No. 9551/2023, whose next hearing is listed for 29 September 2025.

In crime number 0072/2024 under IPC Section 324, 323, 504, 114 and GP Act Section 135 (1), 6 A.D. The judicial magistrate, court case number 12586/2024 was acquitted and released on 07 December 2024.
