AAP target on school fees bill, said- This law is against the middle class

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday criticized the new education bill controlling private schools, describing it as “against the middle class parents and students”. Bhardwaj further said that the party has launched a campaign against this law and is distributing pamphlets outside private schools across Delhi to raise awareness among parents about fees hike.

Bhardwaj told reporters in the national capital that a new education law has been enacted on the fees of private schools. It is fully designed for private school owners and is against the middle class and children’s parents. For this, we have started a campaign today, under which we are distributing these leaflets outside private schools in all the assembly constituencies of Delhi. We are distributing them to make parents aware … and there is no provision about how the fee hike implemented from 1 April will be withdrawn.

Earlier, on 6 August, the AAP attacked the government and called the School Fees Regulation Bill as anti -guardian and pro -management. The party also proposed four major amendments to protect the rights of parents. Atishi, senior AAP leader in the Delhi Legislative Assembly and Leader of the Opposition, said that AAP has proposed to make the audit of schools mandatory, ensure elected representation of parents, to set easy limits of complaints and challenge the committee’s decisions in the court.

According to an official statement, Legislative Assembly leader Atishi said that BJP MLAs will now have to prove through their votes whether they are with the parents of Delhi or with the profiteers of private schools. Addressing a press conference with AAP MLAs Sanjeev Jha and Kuldeep Kumar, Atishi said, “The BJP -led Delhi government has brought a bill to control the fees of private schools – this bill has been in discussion since April. That month, there was chaos in the whole of Delhi. Private schools were arbitrarily increasing the fees, children were getting out of classes, they were being closed in libraries.”
