US President Donald Trump on Monday called Russian President Vladimir Putin, a private meeting with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelanski and a meeting with European leaders at the White House on Monday. Trump confirmed that he started planning a face-to-face meeting between Putin and Zelanski, aimed at ending the ongoing struggle in Ukraine for almost four years.Trump posted on Truth Social, “At the conclusion of the meetings, I called President Putin and started preparations for the meeting at a certain place between President Putin and President Zelanski.”He wrote, “After that meeting, we will join a trillet (Trilot), which will include both the Presidents and me.”
Putin-plump call: 40 minutes ‘creative conversation’
According to Russian news agencies, Trump’s conversation with President Putin lasted for 40 minutes. A Kremlin colleague revealed that the two leaders discussed raising the level of official talks between Russia and Ukraine and agreed to maintain close contact in relation to the crisis. “It was a very good, initial step for the war that has been going on for almost four years,” Trump said.
Finnish President Alexander Stub later confirmed that Trump considered Putin directly considered a “good idea”. German Chancellor Frederick Merz said that the Russian President has been theoretically agreed to meet Zelancesi within two weeks.

Trump started a meeting between Putin and Jailonski
