Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that today NDA Vice Presidential candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan reached Delhi and we had an introductory meeting with NDA leaders. We are very proud that a person like CP Radhakrishnan has been nominated as Vice President of NDA. All the leaders of the NDA coalition thanked Prime Minister Modi. We hope that all parties will support him. Along with this, he informed that CP Radhakrishnan will file nomination of the Vice President on August 20.

Rijiju said that the nomination of CP Radhakrishnan as the NDA Vice Presidential candidate will be filed on August 20 at 11 am. All NDA leaders under Prime Minister Modi will participate in the process of filing nominations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the Governor of Maharashtra and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate CP Radhakrishnan in the national capital. In a post on X, the Prime Minister greeted Radhakrishnan and referred to his decades of public service works.
Prime Minister Modi wrote on X that Thiru met CP Radhakrishnan ji. He greeted him on becoming the Vice Presidential candidate for the NDA. Their long public service and experience in various fields will enrich our nation. He continues to serve the nation with the same dedication and determination, which he has always performed. On Sunday, BJP national president JP Nadda declared Radhakrishnan a candidate for the Vice Presidential election, for which elections will be held on 9 September. The party’s parliamentary board, after discussing with its coalition partners and opposition party, decided unanimously to ensure the Vice Presidential election smoothly.

Chandrapuram Ponusamy Radhakrishnan is currently working as the 24th Governor of Maharashtra since 31 July 2024. Earlier, he served as the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024. He also took over the additional charge of Telangana Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry between March and July 2024. Senior BJP leader, Radhakrishnan, was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Coimbatore and earlier served as Tamil Nadu BJP state president.
