Birth and family
Gulzar was born on 18 August 1934 in Dina, Jhelum, Pakistan. His full name is Sampoorna Singh Kalra. After the partition of the countries, his family settled in Amritsar in Punjab. When Gulzar was small, the mother’s shadow was raised from his head. At the same time, father’s love also did not come in his part. In such a situation, Gulzar started filling the emptiness of his life with words. To fulfill his dreams, Gulzar turned to Mumbai, but the life here was not so easy. So he started working as a mechanic in a garage in Worli, Mumbai in the early days.
The beautiful turn of life started
Please tell that Gulzar’s life took a new and important turn when he met Famous Director Bimal Roy. After this, he was given a chance to write a song in the film ‘Bandini’. In this film, Gulzar Saheb wrote the song ‘Mora Gora Angel, Mohe Shyam Rang Daide’, which was very much liked. After this, there was no need to look back. Apart from writing the song, he directed many films. Gulzar Saheb had directed films like ‘Namkeen’, ‘Mausam’, ‘character’, ‘Andhi’ and ‘Hututu’.

Gulzar wrote many beautiful songs one after the other. The list of his songs is quite long. But ‘Kajrare Kajrare’, ‘Chhaya Chaiya’ and ‘Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi Shikwa Ta Nahi’ are three such songs which have come out of Gulzar’s pen.
