Dispute over Bihar Voter List: Election Commission asked all parties to register objections in 15 days

Amidst the brunt of Bihar voter list, the Election Commission has given a 15 -day ultimatum! Chief Election Commissioner Dnyanesh Kumar has invited political parties to explain flaws in the draft list, so that the voter list can be a transparent resolution of the dispute.

Amid controversy over voter list in Bihar, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar held a press conference on Sunday. He appealed to all political parties to contact the Election Commission within the next 15 days if he finds any disturbance in the draft prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.

Talking to reporters in Delhi, CEC Dnyanesh Kumar said, ‘The doors of the Election Commission are equally open to all. There are 15 days left. The Election Commission urges all political parties that if there is any problem in the draft voter list given to them, then present it to the Commission through the prescribed form in the next 15 days.

This statement comes at a time when opposition parties like Congress and RJD are accusing millions of people from the voter list. The Election Commission has assured to maintain transparency in this process and give all parties a chance to register their objections.
