Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ starts from Sasaram, Tejashwi Yadav targeted BJP

The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ of the Congress has started from Sasaram in Bihar on Sunday. The visit was flagged off by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and leader Tejashwi Yadav were also present on the occasion.

Tejashwi Yadav surrounds BJP

Speaking at the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ program, Tejashwi Yadav attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fiercely. He said that the BJP is getting the work done by the Election Commission which they cannot do themselves.

Tejashwi alleged, “The BJP is getting the work done by the Election Commission that he cannot do himself, that is, he is taking away your rights from you.” He further said that Rahul Gandhi called those people who were declared dead in the voter list by the Election Commission. Tejashwi described it as not ‘theft of vote’, but ‘robbery of vote’.

Will not let democracy end

Tejashwi Yadav warned BJP leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. He said, ‘You all listen carefully that Rahul, stunning and grand alliance will not allow democracy to end with this earth of democracy.’ He also said that this is not just an attempt to snatch the rights of the people, but it is a very big conspiracy to end their existence.

What is ‘Voter Rights Yatra’?

‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ is a campaign launched by the Congress party, which is being led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The main objective of this yatra is to make people aware against the alleged ‘vote theft’ in Bihar and the rigging in the voter list. It will run for 16 days and will cover a distance of about 1,300 km. The yatra will conclude on 1 September with a huge rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
