Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Congress and the then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten have been held responsible for the division of India in a special module issued by NCERT to commemorate the Partition Discussion Memorial Day. The Congress reacted sharply to this module, holding the Jugalbandi of the Hindu Mahasabha and the Muslim League responsible for the partition of India after the British departed. The module states that after partition, Kashmir emerged as a new problem that had never existed in India before and made a challenge to the country’s foreign policy. It also states that some countries continue to help Pakistan and put pressure on India in the name of Kashmir issue.

There has been a dispute over this and Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda has demanded to burn this module as it has not been told the truth. Party spokesperson Pawan Kheda said that burn this document as it does not tell the truth. Partition occurred due to the connivance of the Hindu Mahasabha and the Muslim League. He said in a press conference, “RSS is a threat to this country. The idea of partition was first spread by the Hindu Mahasabha in 1938. Jinnah repeated it in 1940.”
Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth said on a statement given by Congress leader Pawan Kheda’s NCERT to issue special modules on Partition Discussion Day from Class 6 to 12, “I want to ask if the coming generation does not have the right to know about the split of the partition? The split of the partition is a pain, a wound which is necessary to erase the country, whether it is not the right to know the country … Who is responsible? This is the Congress….
