Started earning from an early age to meet your own needs
Kapil Sharma’s father Jitendra Kumar Sharma was the head constable in the Punjab Police. Nevertheless, his childhood was spent in a lot of crisis. When he was younger, he used to work at the telephone booth and earn 500 rupees per month.
After that, when he grew up a little, he started working in a cloth mill for 900 rupees a month. Kapil used to do all this to meet his own needs, but when his father died, he got so much responsibilities that he made one day and night to earn money.
Used to pray for father’s death
Kapil Sharma’s father died of cancer in 2004. Kapil Sharma had said during an interview that he used to pray to God after seeing his father in pain due to cancer to call him to him. At that time Kapil did not even have his own house. He lived in a rented house in Amritsar.
Compassionate job was turned down
Compassionate Appointment is a system under which a government or public sector organizations give jobs to a member of his family after the death of an employee. After his father’s death, Kapil Sharma was getting a constable job, but he rejected the job.
Later, this job was received by Kapil’s elder brother Ashok Kumar Sharma, who is constable in Punjab Police.
Fiercely beaten in the locality
Kapil Sharma had told during an interview that in childhood his father had beaten him in front of everyone in the locality. Kapil Sharma had said- When I was 15 years old, my father came on a police jeep with his friend. They placed the key of the car on the table.
He was sitting with his friend and drinking alcohol. I came there on the pretext of giving snow and lifted the key from there.
I started the jeep, while I did not know at all. As soon as the jeep started, the vegetable man collided with the cart. All the vegetables on it flew into the air and fell down.
By the time I raised the vegetables, the father came and started beating me. The entire mohalla was watching me beating at that time.
Rejected in the first audition
Kapil Sharma’s luck opened after winning the ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge-3’, but when the audition of Laughter Challenge was held in Amritsar, he was rejected. After that, at the behest of a friend, he again auditioned in Delhi and was selected.
The Kapil winner of this show was also a winner, he won 10 lakh rupees prize money, from which he married his sister Pooja.
Laughter Challenge opened luck
After winning the ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge-3’, Kapil Sharma’s luck was opened. He then came to the comedy circus and then opened his own production house ‘K9’.
He joined hands with Colors Channel and started his show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. In a few days the show reached the top and Kapil Sharma became one of the best comedians in the world.
Dead victims of depression
There was a period in Kapil Sharma’s life when he fell victim to depression. After being covered on the small screen, Kapil Sharma wanted to make his mark on the big screen as well.
Kapil Sharma appeared in the lead role in director Abbas-Mastana’s film ‘Kis Kis Kis Ki Pyaar Karoon’ after doing small roles in films like ‘Explain Emotions’ and ‘ABCD 2’.
After this film, Kapil Sharma produced the Hindi film ‘Firangi’ in 2017 and the Punjabi film ‘Son of Manjit Singh’ in 2018.
The flops were bankrupt after films
Kapil Sharma himself acted in ‘Firangi’, while the Punjabi film was only a producer. Kapil Sharma became bankrupt after these films flopped. His bank balance was zero.
Because of this, he went into depression. His wife Ginni helped to overcome this depression.
Started thinking about suicide
Kapil Sharma started thinking about suicide in 2017. Kapil had said in an interview to Aaj Tak- I thought of committing suicide. I felt that there was no one with whom I could share my feelings.
The place I come from. There is no such thing as mental health, which is discussed. I don’t think this was the first time I passed through this round.
Maybe I would have been disappointed in childhood, but no one would have paid attention to it.
Wanted to jump into the sea
Kapil had said that it was a period when he started having anxiety attack due to depression. His friend took him to his home facing home so that he could forget his gum, but he was ready to jump into it after seeing the sea.
Kapil also clarified the relationship with Sunil Grover. He had said that nothing happened between him and Sunil at the time of Australia’s trip. Just seeing him getting angry at someone else, Sunil said that his behavior is not right.
Started drinking alcohol to make himself better
Kapil had said – When you are drunk, you are confident, but when you are calm, reality comes before you. My mistake was that I used to drink alcohol to make myself feel better.
It was fine till night, but I started drinking even during the day. Nothing was understood what to do. At that time several programs were canceled.
Stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan wait for hours and cancel shooting
Apart from the program in the state of intoxication, Kapil Sharma had to cancel the shooting several times. In an interview to the Times of India, when Kapil was asked that he made superstars like Ajay Devgan, Shah Rukh Khan waiting for hours and then canceled the shooting at the last minute, due to which the stars used to get angry. In response, he said- How can I make him wait. Nobody ever got angry with me.
It seemed that the shoot would not be done, later a lot of gilt
Kapil had said- I cannot be late on my shooting even if I want to. I have to reach the set two hours before the film stars arrive, because I have to reach and prepare first.
I reached the set at 10 o’clock. Shahrukh Khan was about to come at one o’clock, my panic started growing. I had left the set at quarter to one o’clock, because I used to think would not be shot.
Sometimes the heart does not work to work, but people do not understand this. When the shoot was canceled with Shah Rukh Bhai, there was a lot of gilt.

Kapil Sharma had said- Shah Rukh Khan met me three-four days after shooting canceled. He came to shoot something. He understood as an artist what was happening. He is finally a superstar and has seen everything in the industry.
He called me in his car, we sat for an hour and talked.
Surious by negative news and abused the journalist
During the days when Kapil Sharma was going through a period of depression, reports were constantly being written against him. Kapil was shocked by negative reports. At that time, he had abused a journalist from the entertainment website and abused him.
The journalist put the entire recording of the conversation with Kapil on the website. In that recording, Kapil was abusing the website journalist on the call.
Kapil said in the recording that why do you print the wrong news about me? Why have you never written that I had rejected Yash Raj’s film ‘Bank Chor’ and that film flopped.
Was debut with Yash Raj’s film
Kapil Sharma was about to debut with Yash Raj banner film ‘Bank Chor’ as the lead actor, but he left the film. He later made his debut with the film Kis Kis Se Pyaar Karoon, directed by Abbas-Mastan.
