The high -level summit in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin was ‘producer’. Both leaders claimed this on Friday. At a joint press conference, the two leaders stated that the dialogue took place in a creative and mutually respected environment and was quite deep and useful. During the press conference, Putin said that he had a ‘compromise’ with Trump over Ukraine, but warned Europe not to disrupt this new progress. The former US President, who targeted Baida, said that if Trump had been at the White House in 2022, the war in Ukraine would never have started.

Putin said in the Russian language that during the last meeting with the previous administration in 2022, I tried to convince my former American colleague that when it comes to enmity, the situation should not be reached to the point from where it is not possible to return. I said directly at that time that this is a big mistake. Putin said that Ukraine’s internal state is a ‘infrastructure’ for Russia, and emphasized that the Kremlin would have to end all the root causes of the struggle. However, he said that he agrees with Trump that the world should ensure Ukraine’s safety, and Russia would welcome the move.
In his comment, the Russian leader insisted that the agreement signed between the two sides would pave the way for peace in Ukraine. He said, “We hope that Kiev and European capitals will understand it positively and will not obstruct the work. They will not try to use secret agreements to take action to disrupt the progress.”
On the other hand, after Putin’s claim, Trump said that nothing can be said to be sure until a compromise is reached. Trump said he would call Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky and European leaders to inform him about the conversation between Putin and him. Trump has objected to Ukraine many times on getting the US support and has praised Putin. On the very first day of returning to the White House, he said with full confidence that he would end the war between the two countries.

However, even after seven months of the tenure, he has not been able to persuade Putin to stop the fight. Trump is adopting every tactic to prevent the four years of war between Russia and Ukraine. Sometimes he threatens to impose a harsh economic sanctions on Russia, while he also warmly welcomed Putin at Joint Base ElMendorf-Richardson. Trump did not get the expected results from the meeting amid all the exercises and the two leaders did not answer the questions of journalists.
