Recently, actress Mrinal Thakur has apologized after an old video surfaced, in which she had the body shaming of actress Bipasha Basu. This video is from the time when Mrinal used to work in the TV show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.
Mrinal wrote on his Instagram story without naming anyone that at the age of 19 he had said many ‘silly’ things. He admitted that at that time he did not know the seriousness of his words and even the words said in the joking can hurt someone. He expressed deep regrets for his comment.
Mrinal also clarified that his intention was never to make anyone a body shame, but it was a funny thing in an interview which became more. He said that over time, he has understood that beauty is in every form.

What was the old video?
In the video that started this controversy, Mrinal Thakur was giving an interview with her co-star Earned Taneja. When Aarit challenged him to push-ups jokingly, he referred to Bipasha Basu and said, ‘Do you want to marry a manly and muscular girl? Marry Bipasha. He also said, ‘Listen, I am better than Bipasha, okay?’
A few days after this video surfaced, Bipasha Basu also shared a mysterious note, in which she wrote, ‘Strong women raise each other. Beautiful women, increase your muscles… break this old thinking that women do not have to look strong or to be physically strong! ‘ This note of Bipasha was believed to be the answer to Mrinal’s comment.
