Noida: Fraud of 72 lakh rupees from an elderly woman in the name of investment in the stock market

In Noida, cyber thugs allegedly cheated Rs 72 lakh from an elderly woman by pretending to have a profit of millions of rupees through investment in the stock market. Police gave this information.

Police said that the victim is retired from the Delhi Municipal Council. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime) Preeti Yadav said that Manju Sharma, who lives in an apartment in Sector 105, Noida, lodged a complaint in this regard at the cyber crime police station on Wednesday night.

According to the complaint, a young woman, who described herself as a financial advisor, contacted Sharma in April and included her in a ‘WhatsApp group’ in which many people were already present and these people were being informed and trained about the stock market.

He said that according to the victim, the members involved in the group were also sharing the ‘screenshot’ of profit and Sharma also transferred lakhs of rupees in the pretense of making profits and initially he made some profit and allowed them to withdraw money.

The official said that when the woman wanted to withdraw all the money including her profits after investing Rs 72 lakh, the cyber criminals did not allow it and started pressurizing them to transfer Rs 49,50,000 and but when the woman refused, she was expelled from the group.

Yadav said that after this the victim realized the fraud and complained about the incident to the Cyber Crime Police Station. He said that the police have registered a case and started investigating the incident.
