Asaram, who raped a minor, has surrendered in Jodhpur jail. Asaram’s interim bail, who reached the leg with plaster in the leg, has ended on 31 March. Asaram’s lawyer has filed a petition to extend the bail period, on which the court should hear on April 2

Asaram’s lawyer Nishant Boda on Tuesday urged the hearing in the court after a holiday from 29 to 31 March. Earlier, Asaram has been granted interim bail of 3 months after hearing in the Gujarat High Court.
Rajasthan High Court lawyer Dinesh Jain said- Asaram will be heard on Wednesday on the application to extend the interim bail period. If the court does not extend the interim bail period, Asaram will have to remain in jail. Until he gets relief in both cases, he will not be able to come out of jail.
After coming out of jail after 11 years and 4 months, Asaram was seen walking in his ashram in Jodhpur.

- Extension application is pending: A petition was first filed by Asaram in the Rajasthan High Court for regular bail. The petition was withdrawn when there was no hope of getting relief in it. After this another petition was filed to increase interim bail. Asaram was first asked by the Rajasthan High Court to file a petition in the Gujarat High Court. The petition presented in Jodhpur was to be heard on March 27, but till then the Gujarat High Court had not decided. Due to this, this petition has been kept pending.
- In the decision of the Gujarat High Court, 2 judges yes, one of one: The court reserved the verdict after hearing on 25 March in Gujarat. The verdict was pronounced on March 28, but due to the yes of one judge and the other in the bench of two judges, there was a situation of indifference. Then the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court transferred the case to another judge. The decision of the third judge to grant Asaram to interim bail was decided in favor of Asaram as per the decision of two.

Jodhpur-Gandhinagar court was convicted
- Jodhpur Court: Asaram was arrested by the Jodhpur police on 2 September 2013 in the Manai Ashram of Jodhpur in the case of rape from a minor. On 25 April 2018, the Special Poxo Court of Jodhpur convicted and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
- Gandhinagar Court: A case of rape was registered against Asaram by a woman from the ashram in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The court sentenced Asaram to life imprisonment on 31 January 2023.
Asaram’s journey on interim bail …
Ahmedabad reached Jodhpur via Sumerpur, Kalol, Mehsana Asaram got interim bail till 31 March last in the Jodhpur case. On the day of the order, he reached the ashram in Pal village of Jodhpur. After staying there for 9 days, Asaram left for Ahmedabad. On the way, he also stayed in Sumerpur, Gujarat’s Kalol, Mehsana, Motra Ashrams. Thereafter reached Ahmedabad Ashram.
Asaram had returned after 12 years from where he was arrested According to the information, Asaram reached the same Indora Ashram after 12 years from where he was arrested for several days. At around 9 pm on the night of 18 February, he reached the Bilawali Ashram on Khandwa Road, Indore.
12 years ago, on 31 August 2013, the Jodhpur police team arrested Asaram from this ashram. During that time, when a case was registered in Jodhpur, Asaram was hiding in his Indore Ashram for four days. The police also had to struggle a lot for his arrest. Jodhpur Ashram returned back on 15 March Asaram reached Jodhpur Ashram on 15 March after reaching different ashram of the country. After this, he stopped here and went back to the jail on the afternoon of April 1.
