A fierce encounter between security forces and Naxalites continues in Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. Two DRG personnel were injured in this anti -Naxal operation in Gangalur area. His condition is stable and was sent to Raipur for better treatment. The police have also feared several Naxalites being injured. This conflict continues from Monday.

Two soldiers of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) were moderately injured in an encounter with Maoists on Tuesday in Bijapur district of Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. According to a police statement, a team of DRG launched an anti -Naxal campaign in Gangalore area on 11 August. On Tuesday morning, the Maoists started firing indiscriminately at the security forces, after which the firing continued intermittently for several hours.

Police officials said that an encounter between security forces and Naxalites is going on in Gangalur police station area of the district in which two personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) were injured. He said that the DRG team in Gangalur area was dispatched for anti-Naxal campaign on Monday and since the party reached the area on Tuesday, there is a continuous release between security forces and Naxalites.

Officials said two DRG personnel had suffered minor injuries in the encounter. He said that the condition of both the injured soldiers is normal and they are out of danger. He informed that the injured soldiers are being sent to Raipur for better treatment after first aid. Officials said many Naxalites are expected to be injured in the campaign.
