Sharad Pawar denied any possibility of joining hands with Ajit Pawar, said- BJP will never support the alliance

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar denied any possibility of joining hands with nephew Ajit Pawar, saying that he would never support the BJP -led coalition. Their statement came amidst the speculation that the two were being seen together at a family ceremony in Mumbai. On August 3, Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar attended the engagement ceremony of Yugendra Pawar, grandson of Sharad Pawar. Their simultaneous presence gave air to speculation of potential political reconciliation between the two rival camps. This is not the first time Pawar Senior has denied such claims. In June also, he rejected similar things and clarified that his party would not form an alliance with those who have joined hands with the BJP for power.

This is not the first time Sharad Pawar has rejected the speculation of reunion with his nephew. In June, Pawar dismissed the speculation between the groups, saying that his party would not form an alliance with any party joining the BJP for power. The renovation of rival camps began in 2023 two years after the NCP’s partition, when Ajit Pawar broke ties with the party and joined hands with the BJP -led coalition in the state. Ajit separated with several MLAs and supported the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the state.
