Tourism security forces will be deployed at Gateway of India and Nariman Point, Maharashtra minister gave information

Desai held a review meeting on Thursday in which district officials, police officers, representatives of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and Public Works Engineers participated.

Maharashtra Minister Shambhuraj Desai has said that a dedicated tourism security force will be deployed soon to ensure security and mob management at the Gateway of India and Nariman Point in South Mumbai. The state tourism minister said that similar force was also deployed at Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani mountainous places near Mumbai and it has effectively managed the crowd during the extreme tourism season.

He said that security forces in Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani have effectively handled the crowd control during the busy time of tourists, ensured safety of tourists, kept traffic smooth, have resolved disputes among tourists and curb driving carelessly. He said that for the first time such concept has been implemented in the state and employees have done commendable work. The same model will also be adopted in Mumbai. He further said that MTDC would buy four wheelers and two wheelers for employees.
